The Emir of Rano, Muhammad Isa Umaru, has turbaned seven district heads as part of efforts to strengthen traditional leadership and promote development across the emirate.
The turbaning ceremony, held on Friday at the Rano Emir’s Palace, brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, government officials and residents from different parts of Kano State.
Speaking at the event, the monarch said the appointments were in recognition of the appointees’ contributions to community development and their dedication to public service.
He urged the newly installed district heads to utilise their experience in promoting religious harmony, economic growth, improved healthcare delivery and educational advancement within their domains.
According to him, traditional institutions play a vital role in sustaining peace, unity and grassroots development.
“I urge you to justify the confidence reposed in you by working tirelessly for the progress of the emirate. You must uphold our cultural values and traditions and avoid any act that is contrary to the norms of our people,” the emir said.
Those turbaned include Alhaji Ismail Isa Umar (Barden Rano), District Head of Barkum; Garba Isa Umar (Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida), District Head of Kumurya; and Manniru Tafida Abubakar (Dan Buran), District Head of Kahu.
