Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano North Senatorial District have reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin in the 2027 general elections, despite notable absenteeism from the Ganduje camp.
The meeting, convened by Senator Barau on Saturday in Kano, brought together party leaders, elected officials, and grassroots politicians to consolidate unity and strategize ahead of the elections.
However, several prominent politicians aligned with former APC national chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from Kano North Senatorial District—including former Deputy Governor Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, Murtala Sule Garo, Hon. Abba Kabir Bichi, Engr. Sani Bala Tsanyawa, and former Speaker Engr. Hamisu Chidari—were absent.
Addressing the stakeholders, Senator Barau said, “We are united and focused. Kano North will stand firmly behind President Tinubu and Governor Abba. Our structure is intact, and we will work tirelessly to ensure their victories. By God’s grace, we will deliver landslide votes for all APC candidates in 2027.”
He also announced the donation of 26 cars and 141 motorcycles to chairmen, vice-chairmen, councillors, and secretaries across the 13 local government areas, emphasizing that empowering grassroots leaders is key to effective voter mobilisation.
Other speakers, including Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe and Jamilu Danbatta, reaffirmed their loyalty to Senator Barau and pledged support for the reelection of Tinubu and Governor Abba, describing Senator Barau as a transformative leader.
The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to work for APC’s success in Kano North, even as Ganduje-aligned politicians stayed away.
Inside Kano recently reported rising tension in the party following a clash between factions loyal to Barau and Ganduje over party leadership, which led to the expulsion of Ganduje-backed leader Mutari Ishaq from the Kano Municipal Local Government APC.
