Kano State former governor and NNPP National Leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has traveled abroad for personal reasons, his aides have said, dismissing claims that the trip was for medical attention.
Captain Mansur Kurugu, spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya movement, told journalists on Thursday that Kwankwaso’s departure was not health-related.
“Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso departs Nigeria for personal reasons. It is not for medical tourism or any health-related reason,” Kurugu said.
Similarly, Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, described the claims as the handiwork of political detractors. He said the NNPP leader was in Kano on Thursday morning to sympathise with traders at Singer Market affected by a recent fire that destroyed shops and goods worth millions of naira.
Hassan added that Kwankwaso’s visit to the market underscores his commitment to the people, rather than any health emergency.
