
The Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the full renovation and rehabilitation of Rogo General Hospital following a fire outbreak that affected parts of the facility on Thursday.
In a statement on Friday, the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said Governor Yusuf described the incident as unfortunate and deeply saddening, stressing that hospitals are vital lifelines that must remain safe and functional.
The governor has also directed an immediate assessment of the damage, with a detailed report to be submitted promptly.
“The Governor further ordered the full renovation and rehabilitation of the affected sections of the hospital to ensure speedy restoration of healthcare services for residents. He assured the people of Rogo of his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening healthcare facilities across all 44 local government areas of the state,” the statement said.
