Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed shock and profound sorrow over the sudden passing of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly on the same day.
The governor’s reaction was conveyed in a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf described the almost simultaneous deaths of Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal and chaired the House Committee on Pilgrims, and Hon. Aminu Sa’adu, representing Ungoggo and serving as Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, as a tragic and painful moment in the state’s history.
He noted that the incident has plunged the government and people of Kano into collective mourning, emphasizing that losing two active lawmakers within hours is a devastating event that defies description.
The governor added that both legislators were committed public servants, loyal party members, and strong representatives of their constituencies, whose dedication to lawmaking and grassroots engagement was unquestionable.
