Police in Kano recover vehicle reported stolen in Borno

The Kano Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle, valued at N20 million, and handed it over to its rightful owner, Ali Alti.

The vehicle was stolen in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on January 5, 2026.

In a statement on Sunday, the Kano police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, said the vehicle was recovered by officers on January 7, 2026, following intelligence-led patrols.

He explained that four suspects were under investigation.

The Kano commissioner of police, Ibrahim Bakori, directed the handover after verifying Mr Alti’s proof of ownership.

The police command commended its officers and expressed appreciation for public support in combating crime.

The public was advised to be cautious when hiring domestic staff.
