The Kano State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security arrangements ahead of the Easter celebrations, calling for calm and cooperation from the public.

This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Kano State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, extended Easter greetings to Christians in Kano State and across Nigeria, wishing them a peaceful and joyful celebration.

“As Christians worldwide celebrate Easter, the Kano State Police Command assures the public of adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful and joyful celebration,” the statement read.

The Command said it has already deployed officers to churches and other key locations across the state to maintain law and order during the festive period.

Police personnel have been stationed at all locations of worship and strategic locations in the state to ensure that residents celebrate without fear.

The Commissioner of Police also directed senior officers, including Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and other operational units, to strengthen security and remain alert throughout the period.

He urged residents to play their part by staying vigilant and reporting anything suspicious to security agencies.

“The Command urges everyone to be security conscious, increase vigilance, and report any suspicious activity or untoward incident,” the statement added.

Residents were also encouraged to contact the police through emergency numbers or make use of the “NPF Rescue Me” application available on the Play Store.
