50-year-old killed while re-digging well in Kano

A 50-year-old man, identified as Yusuf Nadabo, has been reported killed when a well he was re-digging collapsed on him.

According to the spokesman of the State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, the deceased was confirmed dead moments after being rescued unconscious.

He said, “The State Fire Service received a call for emergency assistance from Bashir Namadi, who reported the collapse of the well at Gargajiga town in Minjibir Local Government Area.

The incident affected three persons who were re-digging and repairing the well. One was inside while the other two were outside when the sides of the well cut and fell and covered the one inside.

He added that the command’s rescue team for emergency aid  was mobilised to the scene of the incident and they succeeded in rescuing two people alive.

“The other person, by name Yusuf Nadabo, of about 50 years old was rescued unconscious and later confirmed dead,” he added.

He further revealed that all victims were handed over to the ward head of Gargajiga town.
