A large number of Muslim faithful on Friday gathered at the Nassarawa Palace in Kano to observe the Eid-el-Fitr prayer hosted by Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The congregational prayer was led by the Sarkin Malamai, Malam Kamalu, who delivered a sermon centred on spirituality, unity, and moral responsibility among Muslims.

In his sermon, the cleric highlighted the significance of Eid prayer, urging Muslims to strengthen family ties, celebrate responsibly, and embrace forgiveness. “Use this occasion to reconnect with one another, forgive past grievances, and maintain the good deeds learned during Ramadan,” he said.

Malam Kamalu also called on the faithful to remain conscious of God in their daily lives and improve their relationships with others. “Every Eid reminds us that life is short and that we are drawing closer to death. Therefore, we must prepare for it through righteous deeds,” he added.

He further stressed the inevitability of death, urging believers to live in obedience to God at all times. “Death is certain and not an easy journey, so we must prepare for it before it comes by doing what is right,” he said.

SolaceBase reports that the cleric also emphasised the need for unity among Muslims and called for collective efforts to promote peace within the community. He advised worshippers to put aside political differences and focus on harmony and shared values, especially during the festive period.

The Eid prayer provided an opportunity for reflection, renewal of faith, and reinforcement of communal bonds among Muslims in Kano.
