“As you all know, the monarchy succeeded in court today. The Court of Appeal upheld that the Federal High Court has no right to try this case. The court knew it did not have the jurisdiction, the person who filed the case knew that the court didn’t have it, and the judge that delivered the judgment knew the court didn’t have the jurisdiction, and those that appointed the judge knew about it, yet for eight solid years, this dispute has persisted in trying to raise confusion in Kano State, but Allah’s will, we are protected. Therefore, I urge the people to remain patient and prayerful,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, under the leadership of Justice Muhammad Mustapha, ruled that the Federal High Court in Kano lacked the jurisdiction to preside over the emirate dispute. The court ordered the Chief Judge of Kano State to assign a fresh judge at the state High Court to review the case involving the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, the Kano State Government, the 16th Emir, Muhammad Sanusi II, and the Kano State Assembly.
