The Kano State Hisbah Board says it has arrested 21 persons at a hotel in the Kureken Sani area of Kumbotso Local Government Area over alleged immoral activities.

The Deputy Commander-General of the board, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest to Daily Trust, stating that 11 women were apprehended, some of whom are reportedly between the ages of 17 and 25.

He added that 10 men, mostly youths under the age of 30, were also taken into custody.

According to him, the suspects were arrested while allegedly organising a gathering that contravened Hisbah regulations.

Aminuddeen further disclosed that the hotel manager was also arrested in connection with the incident.

He said those arrested would be charged in court and prosecuted accordingly.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, particularly involving minors, to the appropriate authorities.

The arrest comes days after the board announced it had apprehended over 600 youths for various indecent acts during the recent Sallah festivities.
