Kano Police Caution Applicants Over Fraudsters in Ongoing Recruitment

The Kano State Police Command has warned applicants participating in the ongoing police constable recruitment screening exercise to be cautious of scammers and online impostors.

The warning was given during the recruitment screening exercise taking place at the Police Officers’ Mess in Bompai, Kano, which began on March 9, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the exercise is being conducted with professionalism, credibility, and transparency.

The head of the Police recruitment team, DCP Habibu Rabiu, stressed that the recruitment process is completely free and urged candidates not to fall victim to fraudsters.

“The exercise is completely free, and candidates are advised to be wary of online impostors and scammers,” he said.

The statement also noted that the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori who supervised the screening on Wednesday commended the personnel involved for ensuring a smooth process.

He also urged them to maintain the standard.

He noted that adequate security had been deployed in and around the venue of the exercise.
