In a petition dated 9th April 2026 and addressed to the Director of the DSS in Kano State Command, the movement called for urgent investigation into what it described as “persistent and orchestrated online attacks” allegedly aimed at discrediting prominent members of the group, including Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga, and other stakeholders of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

The petition, alleged that some individuals occupying political and communication roles within the Kano State Government are involved in the alleged online campaign.

Those named in the petition include Sanu Bature Dawakin Tofa, spokesperson to the Kano State Governor; Salisu Yahaya Hotoro, APC youth leader; Ibrahim Adam, Special Adviser to the Governor on Information; Nuhu Dambazau, senior special reporter to the governor; and Mukhtar S. Yahuza, among others.

According to the petitioners, the individuals allegedly used various social media platforms, particularly Facebook, to circulate “defamatory content” and “coordinated attacks” against the movement’s leaders and supporters.

“We write to formally petition your esteemed office regarding the persistent cyber bullying, online harassment, and coordinated defamatory attacks directed against leaders of the Kwankwasiyya Movement,” the document stated in part.

The group further urged the DSS to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations and take appropriate action to address what it described as a growing threat to political stability and peaceful online engagement in the state.
