The leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has described himself as the only “priceless” politician in Kano State, insisting that money cannot influence his political decisions.

The comments come amid reports of a growing rift between Kwankwaso and his political protégé, Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, following speculations that the governor may be planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kwankwaso, who also served as Kano State governor, made the declaration while addressing Kwankwasiyya supporters at his residence in Kano.

According to him, despite the widespread belief among Nigerians that politicians can easily be influenced or “bought” with money, he remains proud to stand apart from such practices.

“Many people believe there are no politicians who cannot be bought, but I am proud to say that I am priceless,” he said.

He stressed that financial considerations have never guided his political choices.

The former governor added that if his interest were money, he would clearly know where to align politically, noting that no individual or group has ever approached him with an offer to influence or “buy” his political stance.

Kwankwaso also extended the description to members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, saying his supporters are equally priceless because they do not allow money to determine their voting decisions during elections.

He urged his followers to remain calm and patient, reminding them that political offices and positions are temporary, and that God has the power to change any situation at any time.
