60 clerics set to train Kano’s intending Hajj pilgrims

Ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has selected about 60 Hajj Induction Course teachers across the state to conduct weekly induction classes for intending pilgrims.

The Public Relations Officer of the board,

Sulaiman Dederi made this known via a statement he released on Sunday.

“In preparation for the 2026 Hajj exercise, the State Pilgrims Welfare Board has selected about 60 Hajj Induction Course teachers across the state to conduct weekly induction classes for intending pilgrims,” Dederi’s statement read.

He explained that the selection was announced during a meeting held with the teachers at the board’s headquarters in Kano.

Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, stated that the selected teachers will be deployed to 10 designated induction centres across the state to ensure effective and comprehensive training of the pilgrims ahead of the Hajj.

The designated centres, he disclosed, include: the School for Arabic Studies, Ungogo Local Government Area, Gwarzo, Bichi, Rimin-Gado, Wudil, Gezawa, Kura, Rano, and Tudun Wada Local Government Areas.

The Director General, who was represented by the Head of  Pre-Hajj Seminar and Governing Board Member, Malam Tijjani Sani-Maihula, emphasised the importance of dedication, discipline, and commitment in the discharge of their (clerics’) duties.

He charged the selected teachers to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and professionalism, noting that proper induction is key to ensuring a successful and hitch-free Hajj exercise.

In his remarks, the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Murtala Sani, called on the instructors to uphold the standards of the Board and properly guide intending pilgrims on the rites of Hajj in accordance with Islamic teachings and regulations set by the relevant authorities.

Sani further assured that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board remains committed to early preparation and capacity building as part of its efforts to enhance the welfare and performance of Kano State pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
