The Kano State Anti-Corruption and Public Complaints Commission (PCACC) says the commission has successfully returned over N40 million to rightful owners after the commission mediation in some civil cases brought before it.
Addressing newsmen at the commission’s headquarters in Kano, Executive Chairman of the commission Sa’idu Yahaya stated that since his assumption of office in August 2025, the commission had returned a huge sum of money in civil case settlement brought before the commission.
“On a daily basis we return money to owners after a successful civil case settlement that usually involves business transactions among others. This clearly shows the confidence reposed on us by the public.
“That is why we always leave our doors open for the public to lodge complaints and other issues that need the commission’s attention. Similarly, we have also been attending to other complains that involve criminal charges,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients of the returned money, Isma’il Muhammad Indabawa stated that at initial stage they have lost hope, but with the intervention of the commission the issues were resolved amicably and their money was recovered without going to court.
He commended the commission for its expertise in resolving issues amicably.
