An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has lost his life during the distribution of Ramadan and Sallah palliatives in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident occurred on Friday during a programme organised by member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa.

Confirming the incident in a statement, the lawmaker alleged that the officer was killed following an attempt by hoodlums to disrupt the distribution

Doguwa expressed shock over the development, describing it as a tragic loss. He condoled with the Civil Defence Corps, the family of the deceased officer, and the people of Tudun Wada.

“May Allah grant him mercy and forgiveness,” the lawmaker said.

He called on security agencies to immediately launch a thorough investigation to identify those behind the violence and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

Doguwa also warned against the spread of false information and defamatory remarks linking him directly to the incident, stressing that legal measures would be taken to protect his integrity and that of his constituents.

The lawmaker prayed for the repose of the officer’s soul, adding that the incident should serve as a reminder of the need for vigilance during public gatherings.

He also said he personally supervised the sharing of food items and other support materials to the residents of the area.
