The donation was announced during the launch of the 2025 Emblem Appeal Fund, held on Monday at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.

This event was part of activities commemorating the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

In a statement by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Kano Government House, Usman Gwadabe, it was disclosed that Governor Yusuf personally contributed N2 million to the fund. Additionally, the 44 Local Government Areas of the state collectively donated N10 million in support of the cause.
