Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced a landmark initiative to solarize 200 public schools and equip each with 250 computers under the World Bank-supported AGILE Project.

The move is part of the administration’s broader effort to modernize the education sector and bridge the digital divide across the state.

This was disclosed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, in a statement issued on Monday.

Governor Yusuf made the announcement during the official flag-off ceremony for the distribution of instructional materials to basic and post-basic schools held in Kano.

According to the Governor, the solar power installation will provide stable electricity in schools, thereby creating a conducive environment for digital learning.

The computers are expected to enhance access to technology and improve the quality of education for thousands of students.

“Our goal is to bridge the digital divide and ensure our students are not left behind in this era of technological advancement,” Governor Yusuf stated.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming education through infrastructure, innovation, and inclusive access to learning tools.
