The Special Advisers’ Forum in Kano State has called for unity, restraint, and responsible political engagement amid rising political tensions in the state.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Forum’s Secretary, Dr. Idris Salisu Rogo, the advisers noted that politics is inherently dynamic, with differing opinions, alignments, and perspectives forming a natural part of a democratic society.

However, the Forum emphasized that political engagement must always be guided by mutual respect, maturity, decorum, and a shared commitment to the peace and progress of Kano State.

“At this crucial moment, we urge all political actors, appointees, party members, supporters, and the general public to exercise restraint in their statements and actions,” the statement read.

The Forum cautioned against the use of inflammatory language, personal attacks, threats, and the disclosure of private communications, noting that such actions erode public trust and distract from the core business of governance.

“Kano State boasts a commendable history of political awareness and civility that we must uphold,” the statement added.

The Special Advisers also reaffirmed their loyalty to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing him as the leader of government with ultimate authority over political direction and decision-making in the state.

“We affirm our unwavering loyalty and alignment with any political decisions made by His Excellency that serve the interests of Kano State and its citizens,” the Forum stated.

The advisers pledged their collective support for the governor’s administration, highlighting ongoing efforts in good governance, people-oriented policies, infrastructural development, social welfare initiatives, and reforms aimed at improving the lives of residents.

According to the Forum, progress recorded across key sectors under the governor’s leadership is evident and should be protected and consolidated.

The statement further called on all stakeholders to place the interests of Kano State above personal grievances or political rivalries, urging constructive, responsible, and patriotic engagement.

“Unity within government and respect among political actors are vital for stability, effective governance, and the realization of the administration’s vision,” the Forum noted.

The Special Advisers’ Forum reaffirmed its commitment to fostering dialogue, internal cohesion, and responsible communication in support of the governor’s leadership and the broader development agenda of Kano State.
