Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Christian community in Kano State and across Nigeria on the 2025 Christmas celebration.
The message was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf described Christmas as a season that embodies the values of love, sacrifice, compassion and peaceful coexistence, which he said are essential for harmonious living in a multi-religious and multi-ethnic society such as Kano State.
He called on Christians to use the festive period to promote peace, unity and collective progress, while encouraging all residents, regardless of faith or ethnic background, to continue to live together in mutual respect and understanding.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the rights of all citizens and ensuring an environment where everyone can freely practise their religion without fear or discrimination.
He also appealed to religious leaders to intensify the preaching of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, noting that unity remains a key foundation for sustainable development in the state.
Governor Yusuf wished Christians a joyous Christmas celebration and prayed for a peaceful and prosperous New Year for all residents of Kano State.
He further advised motorists to observe traffic rules during the festive period to ensure safety on the roads.
